Young investigators

Interdisciplinary and thematic networks are established by and for the young investigators, i.e., research assistants, PhD students, and Post Docs in the field of obesity research. The networks expand upon networks established in the research initiative UNIK ‘Food, Fitness & Pharma’.

The networks serve as a incubator for the next generation of outstanding scientists in the field, and to attract young scientists from the international research community.

Among the key outcomes of these networks is the formation of personal networks, and the members' recognition of the numerous opportunities for collaborations outside the department where a given young investigator works.

The young scientists themselves organise the meetings, and have access to administrative support and consultationfrom the UCPH LOM staff.

Topics for the meetings may include debates and study classes, presentations of future hot topics, presentation of own studies, methods and results, and common areas such as communication in the media and career planning.

There is currently one active Young Investigator Network, but more are under way:

  • Young investigators in Muscle-Fitness (a part of UNIK ‘Food, Fitness & Pharma’):
