Governing Obesity-researchers present top research to international guests

Three subjects, three researchers per subject and three minutes per researcher. This was the unconventional formula, when top researchers from SUND presented their research to a series of European funds in relation to the European Foundation Centre conference 2013, Sustainable Cities.

Top researchers from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, amongst these two Governing Obesity-researchers, broke with the usual communication form of statistics, technical terms and PowerPoint presentations, when SUND in cooperation with the Novo Nordisk Foundation hosted an international event in the ceremonial hall.

Three teams of top researchers took turns presenting their research and gave the funds insight into a number of research areas which may help solve health-related challenges of great importance to society.

Governing Obesity was represented by Thue W. Schwartz and Jens Juul Holst, who told about obesity and diabetes.

The presented research projects were within the subjects ‘bacteria’, ‘ageing’ and ‘obesity and diabetes’ and the researchers took turns presenting their research and gave the invited funds insight into a number of research areas which may help solve health-related challenges of great importance to society.

Read more about the researchers’ presentations and learn about why and how we become older, what role bacteria play in the body and whether we will ever get a pill that is as effective as an operation for obesity.
